What KanouHealth is

KanouHealth is a free digital health platform that estimates your risk of diabetes from information you provide, and offers general lifestyle and educational guidance. It is a screening and awareness tool, not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition.

Who can use this platform

The anonymous screening tool is open to anyone, with or without an account, and may be used on behalf of another person (for example, a family member or patient) with their consent.

Creating an account requires you to be old enough to enter into this agreement under the law that applies to you (typically 18), to provide accurate information, and to keep your login credentials confidential. You're responsible for all activity under your account.

Using the platform responsibly

Please use KanouHealth to check your own diabetes risk, learn about prevention, and manage your own account. In particular, don't:

Disrupt the service

Attempt to interfere with, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the platform or other users' accounts.

Scrape or automate

Use bots, scrapers, or automated requests beyond normal, individual use of the tool.

Distort public data

Submit deliberately false information to distort the platform's aggregate health statistics.

Reverse-engineer

Decompile, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the underlying risk model or source code.

Impersonate others

Create an account using someone else's identity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization.

Break the law

Use the platform for any unlawful purpose, or to harm, harass, or defraud others.

Your data

How we collect, use, and protect your information is described in full in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. You retain ownership of any information you submit; using the platform gives us only the limited right, described there, to process it in order to provide the service.

Intellectual property

The KanouHealth name, logo, design, risk-prediction model, and educational content are owned by the platform's creator and protected by applicable intellectual property law. Using the platform gives you a personal, limited, non-transferable right to access it for its intended purpose. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the platform's content or code without prior written permission.

No warranty

KanouHealth is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. While we work carefully on the accuracy of the screening tool and its content, we can't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, available at all times, or perfectly suited to every individual circumstance. Risk estimates are statistical, not certainties.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, KanouHealth and the person who builds and operates it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any health decisions or outcomes, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform.

This does not limit any rights you have that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your Account settings page.

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that misuse the platform or violate these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Chad, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

If a disagreement comes up, please reach out first so we can try to resolve it directly and informally. That's almost always faster than any formal process.

General terms

Severability

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect.

No waiver

Not enforcing a term right away doesn't waive our right to enforce it later.

Entire agreement

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and KanouHealth about using the platform.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform grows. Meaningful changes will be reflected here. Continuing to use KanouHealth after a change means you accept it.
